I needed a structural engineer at short notice. Spoke to Lewis and he arranged to come round in an evening to do the survey. Very professional and helpful, report came back within a couple of days well written and clearly explained. Would thoroughly recommend.

Most impressed with the speed of service and professional approach by Tashi Structures. A site visit was arranged quickly and a comprehensive report was delivered the following week. This is the first time I’ve needed to employ the services of a structural engineer and was quite daunted by some of the reviews of other companies but found Lewis Osborne easy to deal with, efficient and friendly in every respect. I would highly recommend his services.
Don’t usually leave reviews, but the high level of service and flexibility offered to me by Tashi structures was second to none. I am a self builder who run into issues with a structural gabion basket design that had not been thought through by previous structural engineer. After contacting Lewis he acted quickly and decisively to dig me out of a hole. Professional and personable, I can’t speak highly enough of these guys!!!

Highly recommend! The service Lewis provides is excellent, he has a wealth of knowledge and a very calming presence to put your mind at ease with any structural concerns you may have. His report was very detailed and whilst he did not recommend any specific companies to complete the work he was very detailed in his recommended approach to remediations.

Lewis is highly professional, patient, efficient and personable. He accepted our small but slightly unusual & rather detailed small job. We required a ‘comfort’ report for our Landlord, which would confirm that the proposed apartment alterations were either structurally sound without calculations, or were sound, proved by Lewis’s calculations. The report also involved clear visuals, overlaying the proposals onto ‘as existing’ photos, enabling it to be easily understood by non-professionals. The report supported our successful Building Control application. Lewis’s charges are exceptionally reasonable. He honoured his quote despite additional time, & for which l felt uncomfortable and asked him for a further invoice. Lewis responded with speed & patience, to queries, explanations & revisions, and was happy to work with me to produce the report l wanted. I am very appreciative and thank you, Lewis.

Even with our limited time frame Lewis was able to fit us in, investigate the project and give us an in depth project plan for our works needed doing and guide us in regards to planning permissions and building regulations etc. Even giving up his own weekend to make sure we had what we needed in time, 10/10 top bloke!

I asked Lewis to do a structural survey for some cracking of an internal wall in a 110 year old house. His report came in two weeks, was comprehensive, and gave clear advice about the cause and remedy.
Lewis has been absolutely fantastic in preparing our report and supporting us through knocking down couple of walls and installing a beam, very communicative and helpful even once the report was issued. Could not recommend more highly.
Tashi Structures were recommended by our RICS surveyor when we purchased our property. There were queries regarding historical subsidence and whether there was any ongoing movement. Lewis’ communication was excellent and timely. Appointments were arranged directly with the estate agent and even outside of typical working hours, so as to accommodate the vendors. Reports were written quickly, but carefully, and were very thorough. Report findings were also corroborated by the vendors’ own independent (and unrelated to TS) engineer, who had been instructed by them and who had decades’ long history with the property. We then asked Tashi Structures to return and provide structural counts for our renovations. At this point, Lewis could have taken our cash, drawn up some counts and run, but he didn’t. He took a considerate and consultative approach. Encouraging us to seek advice from an architect before ploughing ahead with our plans, which might not have been financially viable to us. Lewis also took great care to simply explain construction and building issues to us, so that we could be fully informed despite not having any real sector knowledge of our own. We have really appreciated Tashi Structures integrity throughout this project and look forward to working with Lewis again, once we have finalised design plans.

We recently used Lewis at Tashi Structures to review the structural adequacy of part of our house following a historic internal wall removal, and we were extremely impressed with the service provided.

Lewis has been very helpful in providing guidance and assurance with respect to our subsidence issue (caused by a historic mains water leak). This has been a stressful experience, in particular having to deal with a very unhelpful insurance company, and Lewis has provided much needed assurance with the works to be undertaken and reporting on the subsequent structural adequacy. Lewis provides a very personal service and responds to queries and requests for visits very promptly. He also provides clear explanations of the structural issues, the reasons for the occurrence and the best practical courses of action. I would have no hesitation recommending Lewis.

I needed a structural engineer to perform a survey of my property for issues with cracking. Lewis arrived at the arranged time and did a thorough examination of the property explaining important points as he went around and giving an initial assessment at the end of the visit. This was then followed up by the written report within a week which was detailed and covered what had been discussed verbally. His fee was in line with others that had provided quotes. I would recommend him!
