Lewis has been very helpful in providing guidance and assurance with respect to our subsidence issue (caused by a historic mains water leak). This has been a stressful experience, in particular having to deal with a very unhelpful insurance company, and Lewis has provided much needed assurance with the works to be undertaken and reporting on the subsequent structural adequacy. Lewis provides a very personal service and responds to queries and requests for visits very promptly. I needed a structural engineer to perform a survey of my property for issues with cracking. Lewis arrived at the arranged time and did a thorough examination of the property explaining important points as he went around and giving an initial assessment at the end of the visit. This was then followed up by the written report within a week which was detailed and covered what had been discussed verbally. His fee was in line with others that had provided quotes. I would recommend him!

Don’t usually leave reviews, but the high level of service and flexibility offered to me by Tashi structures was second to none. Lewis is highly professional, patient, efficient and personable. He accepted our small but slightly unusual & rather detailed small job. We required a ‘comfort’ report for our Landlord, which would confirm that the proposed apartment alterations were either structurally sound without calculations, or were sound, proved by Lewis’s calculations. The report also involved clear visuals, overlaying the proposals onto ‘as existing’ photos, enabling it to be easily understood by non-professionals. The report supported our successful Building Control application. Lewis’s charges are exceptionally reasonable. He honoured his quote despite additional time, & for which l felt uncomfortable and asked him for a further invoice. Lewis responded with speed & patience, to queries, explanations & revisions, and was happy to work with me to produce the report l wanted. I am very appreciative and thank you, Lewis.

Tashi Structures were recommended by our RICS surveyor when we purchased our property. There were queries regarding historical subsidence and whether there was any ongoing movement. Lewis’ communication was excellent and timely. Appointments were arranged directly with the estate agent and even outside of typical working hours, so as to accommodate the vendors. Reports were written quickly, but carefully, and were very thorough. Report findings were also corroborated by the vendors’ own independent (and unrelated to TS) engineer, who had been instructed by them and who had decades’ long history with the property. We then asked Tashi Structures to return and provide structural counts for our renovations. At this point, Lewis could have taken our cash, drawn up some counts and run, but he didn’t. He took a considerate and consultative approach. Encouraging us to seek advice from an architect before ploughing ahead with our plans, which might not have been financially viable to us. Lewis also took great care to simply explain construction and building issues to us, so that we could be fully informed despite not having any real sector knowledge of our own. We have really appreciated Tashi Structures integrity throughout this project and look forward to working with Lewis again, once we have finalised design plans.
