What our clients say

Lewis carried out a structural inspection of a property we are in the process of purchasing. We received a highly detailed and thorough report that was of excellent quality. Lewis was professional and easy to communicate with throughout, including contacting the estate agent directly to organise his site visit which made our lives that bit easier. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services.

I would definitely recommend Tashi Structures I posted online a job that I needed doing and had a response straight away Lewis was very quick and thorough with his plans for my load bearing wall to be removed Lewis was very patient and polite (as we changed our minds on the design) Can’t wait for the wall to be knocked down and my new kitchen to be fitted Thanks Lewis

Jennifer Marsh

I contacted Tashi via a local search facility for Structural Engineers. I had ongoing issues with my roof which I needed advice on how to proceed. I found Lewis very helpful he gave me good advice on how to proceed with a full report and practical advice as I needed it.

Roger Shoulders

Lewis is highly professional, patient, efficient and personable. He accepted our small but slightly unusual & rather detailed small job. We required a ‘comfort’ report for our Landlord, which would confirm that the proposed apartment alterations were either structurally sound without calculations, or were sound, proved by Lewis’s calculations. The report also involved clear visuals, overlaying the proposals onto ‘as existing’ photos, enabling it to be easily understood by non-professionals. The report supported our successful Building Control application. Lewis’s charges are exceptionally reasonable. He honoured his quote despite additional time, & for which l felt uncomfortable and asked him for a further invoice. Lewis responded with speed & patience, to queries, explanations & revisions, and was happy to work with me to produce the report l wanted. I am very appreciative and thank you, Lewis.

Lindsey Alexander

Great work! Even with our limited time frame Lewis was able to fit us in, investigate the project and give us an in depth project plan for our works needed doing and guide us in regards to planning permissions and building regulations etc. Even giving up his own weekend to make sure we had what we needed in time, 10/10 top bloke!

Benjamin jenkins

I contacted Tashi Structures regarding a structural survey that I needed in order to look at an open plan kitchen. Lewis came out to the flat and went through the plans and put together the requested report. Lewis offered advice and thoughts re the work when it turned out the wall was structural. This was above the ask and was really appreciated, an on the icy on the cake. I would definitely recommend Lewis to friends and family

FAQs

Common questions

Do I need a structural engineer?

A structural engineer is typically required where there are concerns regarding the structural condition of a building, or where alterations, extensions or new construction works are proposed. We provide advice for homeowners, purchasers, architects, contractors, developers and commercial clients across a wide range of project types.

What’s the difference between a structural engineer and a surveyor?

Surveyors provide a broad assessment of a property’s overall condition, whereas structural engineers specialise in the performance, stability and integrity of structures. Surveyors will often recommend further investigation by a structural engineer where structural concerns have been identified or where specialist advice is required.

How quickly can you visit?

Site inspections can typically be arranged within a week of instruction. Where timescales are critical, we will always endeavour to accommodate urgent requirements wherever possible.

Can you help if cracks have appeared in my property?

Yes. Cracking, movement and structural defects are among the most common reasons clients contact us. We can investigate the likely cause, assess the significance of any defects observed and provide clear recommendations for any further action required.

Do you work with architects, contractors and developers?

Yes. Alongside residential projects, we regularly provide structural engineering support for architects, contractors, developers, commercial property owners and other construction professionals, from initial feasibility advice through to detailed design and site support.

Can you help before I buy a property?

Yes. We regularly undertake pre-purchase structural inspections for prospective purchasers seeking reassurance regarding the condition of a property or concerns raised by surveyors, lenders or insurers.

Do you undertake commercial projects?

Yes. We provide structural engineering services for commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments, including refurbishments, alterations, fit-outs, change-of-use projects, inspections and technical advisory commissions.

Direct Access. Practical Solutions.

Clients work directly with experienced engineers, benefiting from clear communication, pragmatic advice and a responsive service throughout the life of a project.
